‘Sugriva’ in 18 hours

After setting a record in directing a Malayalam film ‘Bhagwan’ starring Mohan Lal in 19 hours by first time director Prashanth he has now taken up a Kannada film ‘Sugriva’ in 18 hours. The second Sunday the holiday of cinema industry has been used for the shooting and it is on 11th of October 2009 from morning 6 am till 12 in the night director Prashanth will be completing his first Kannada film for Anaji Films starring super star Shivarajakumar and Yagna Shetty in the lead roles.

In the past a Tamil film ‘Kalyanam’ was made in 24 hours but before this the Tulu film ‘September 8’ was made in 24 hours by Dr Richar Castellino. In the mid 80’s director Dinesh Baboo made a Kannada film a thriller ‘Idhu Sadhya’ in 28 hours with top stars of Kannada cinema.

Although the entire film is shot in 18 hours it is the expensive project and eight months of preparation has went in for this film says the renowned cameraman and producer of Kannada films Anaji Nagaraj.

10 cameramen Vishnu, Shekar Chandru, Sathya Hegde, R Giri, Suresh Babu, MR Seenu, Krishna, Niranjan Babu, Veenus Murthy and Suresh there will be two additional cameramen and in case of need Anaji Nagarj will stand behind the camera. Prashanth is heading the megaphone with 10 Kannada film directors Om Prakash Rao, PN Sathya, Nagshekar, Pramod Chakravarthy, Ananthu, Viji, Raghav Loki, AP Arjun, Pandu, Tushal Ranganath. There will be two additional director Madesh and Mussanje Mahesh as stand by.

There will be thirty plus artists for this film. Two Jimmy Jip, three steady camera, 500 cinema workers, two dance directors, 30 assistant cameramen, one action director and art director, 10 assistant directors, and 45 camera assistants are deployed for this challenging task. In Two sets the entire shoot will be conducted and the film has been placed before the Guinness Book of World Records.

Adequate security measures and medical attention is also used on all the hours of shooting.
